It is almost a five-hour concert marathon and now it will be the **first time** that world hits sung in a language other than Czech will be performed at this musical event - by our band. 

Who will appear on stage? **MIRAI, DIVOKEJ BILL, NO NAME, LENKA FILIPOVÁ, LENNY, MICHAL HRŮZA** and of course **QUEENIE**.

"We want to be closer to the audience, we want to see more of their faces. This concert will celebrate our eighteen-year career and we would be happy if all those who started with us eighteen years ago would come to celebrate this anniversary with us", says our frontman Michael Kluch. For this reason, we decided to celebrate our birthday in the cosier premises of the multifunctional hall **O2 universum**, which is directly adjacent to the O2 arena. **And twice on 18 and 19 April 2024!**

On stage with us will be some of the previous members of the band or guests who are significantly connected with the history of the band. In addition, you can purchase a Meet & Greet ticket, which will give you priority access to the hall, meet the band in person, or meet a Freddie Mercury costume, which our frontman Michael Kluch recently auctioned off! You can look forward, as is usual with our big concerts, to a rich visual set with special backdrops and visual effects.

Almost exactly three years from the first planned performance date, you can finally stresslessly enjoy the unique atmosphere of this spectacular show and bathe in a most authentic experience of Queen's phenomenal music as presented by Michael Kluch and the band Queenie.

Those who attended the event in September 2021 as well as those who couldn't join on the rescheduled date can look forward to a grandiose show commemorating the glory of the band that redefined the history of rock music. _"We refunded over 10 000 tickets, so we practically owe this to many fans,_" says the band's secretary Martin Zoubek. Popular hits of the British icon will be played by the Czech group Queenie, which has been dedicated to Queen's repertoire for 17 years and is considered one of the most authentic tribute bands in the world. The experience will be completed by a majestic light and multimedia show supported by top-notch technologies of the 21st century. _"While preparing the show, we already knew it would be impressive by the Czech standards, but did not want to risk using too big words. After the premiere, it became clear to us that we had created one of the most prominent shows ever to take place at O2 arena. We can without doubt promise that the forthcoming one will be spectacular too"_, adds the frontman Michael Kluch.

The show is touchingly introduced by Peter Freestone, Freddie Mercury's personal friend. The rest is an explosively lively experience. Stunning pyrotechnic effects, incredibly sharp image on the largest LCD screen ever used at O2 arena, an extensive golden-black stage of various shapes and height levels, from which two intersecting catwalks extend over curved bridges - all noticeably inspired by the show style of the greatest music stars. Exclusive lighting setup, together with four several-ton illuminated blocks which float, rotate and tilt above the stage, create an unforgettable play of lights and colours. The fifth illuminated block supports a piano with steps for the frontman, with whom it flies above the heads of the audience across half of the arena.

Sophisticated composition of the songs, together with their authentic rendition in the original tunes and arrangements, combined with the absolutely breathtaking performance by the band Queenie and the phenomenal voice of Michael Kluch, create the feeling as if you were watching a sequence of video clips of Freddie Mercury and the band Queen. Get carried away and experience the music of Queen at the height of their fame, as we remember them.

In September 2021, three QUEEN RELIVED by Queenie concerts took place in Prague's O2 arena. The audience's interest was so great that we have prepared additional dates for this great show, May 18 and 19, 2023. Almost exactly three years after the first scheduled performance, you can finally experience the unique atmosphere of a spectacular spectacle and the world's most authentic experience of phenomenal music with us without stress Queen performed by Michael Kluch and the group Queenie.

Spectators who saw this event in September 2021, as well as those who could not see this rescheduled date, can look forward to a spectacular show, commemorating the glory of the group that rewrote the history of rock music. "We returned over 10,000 tickets, so we practically owe it to many viewers," says the band's secretary, Martin Zoubek. The popular hits of the British icon will be played by the Czech formation Queenie, which has been taking care of her repertoire for 17 years and is considered one of the most authentic tribute bands in the world. The experience will be completed by a massive light and multimedia show full of 21st century technology. "When we were preparing the show, we knew it would be big by Czech standards, but we were afraid to waste big words. After the premiere, it was clear to us that we had created one of the biggest shows ever to take place at the O2 Arena. We can unashamedly declare that it will be spectacular again", adds frontman Michael Kluch.

The show is presented in a touching way by a personal friend of Freddie Mercury, Peter Freestone. Others are already a very spontaneous experience. Shocking pyrotechnic effects, an incredibly sharp image of the largest LCD screen ever used in the O2 arena, a large and multi-height gold-black stage, from which two intersecting catwalks extend over curved bridges, clearly refer to a show in the style of the greatest music stars. Superior lighting elements, together with four several-ton light blocks that float, rotate and tilt above the stage, create an unforgettable play of lights and colors. A piano with steps is extended from the fifth light block and together with the frontman flies above the heads of the audience over half of the arena.

The sophisticated composition of the songs, combined with their authentic presentation in the original keys and arrangements, and with the absolutely breathtaking capture by the band Queenie together with the phenomenal voice of Michael Kluch, creates the feeling that you are watching a sequence of video clips of Freddie Mercury and the band Queen. Let yourself be carried away and experience the music of Queen at its most famous as we remember it.

This includes a total of **14 open-air concerts**, starting on 15 July in Pilsen and ending on 26 August at the Loket Amphitheatre. In addition to the traditional stops, the band will also visit new locations. 

Audiences can look forward to precisely played and sung hits of the British **Queen in original arrangements and keys**, which the band, led by singer **Michael Kluch**, prides itself on. For this year's tour, the band will be performing several new songs, including **Spread Your Wings** and **Death On Two Legs**, and a bonus for fans will be **Michael Kluch's** first original solo track, **Let Me**, co-written with musician **Michael Skorepa**. 

The author of the tour's stage design is **Martin Hruška**, who is also responsible for the set design of the **Queenie concerts at the O2 arena**. "It is a multi-storey variable stage dominated by two lighting blocks with hundreds of differently programmable light sources and a tilting, adjustable staircase. In short, we're going to have another good run around the stage. Our ambition is to put on a show worthy of a stadium band, albeit in more cosy surroundings," reveals frontman **Michael Kluch**. 

The audience will be taken care of at the tour concerts from the moment they enter the venue, even before the first notes are heard from the stage. "We'll get them in the mood as soon as they arrive, for example by having themed catering based on the favourite foods or ingredients of **Freddie Mercury** and other members of **Queen**. Our intention is to deliver a more holistic experience than is common at concerts," Kluch explains. "The word "universum" has a beautiful Czech equivalent, "veškerenstvo". We are all part of everything, the energy has to flow and we will do everything we can to keep the audience in a good mood for days after our performance."

We can't tell you how happy we are that after a year and a half, we and you will finally get to see the concerts! What's more, the O2 arena will open its doors with our concerts.

**The tickets from 15/05/2020 (respectively from 11/09/2020) are valid for the date 03/09/2021**

According to the latest regulations, the organisers of cultural events have the opportunity to completely fill the audience capacity. Of course, subject to certain measures, which you already know and have worked within our UNIVERSUM Tour - these will not change: 

- maximum 7 days old PCR test with negative result

- a maximum 72-hour old antigen test with a negative result

- a certificate or written confirmation of covid-19 vaccination provided that at least 14 days have passed since the completion of the vaccination schedule

- laboratory confirmation of the presence of covid-19 disease within the past 180 days

As far as the 50% vaccinated to tested ratio is concerned, you don't have to worry about not getting into the concert. The overall capacity of the hall has a large reserve for these ratios and all audience members who have purchased or have yet to purchase a ticket will be able to fit into the concerts.

**They promise a show unparalleled in the entire Czech online environment.Queenie have chosen a rather fitting name for this occasion: The Show Must Go Home; a slightly altered version of the name of the song The Show Must Go On written  by  Freddie  Mercury  and  Queen.  It  is  this  legendary  British  band  that Queenie pays tribute to with their concert shows and whose music they share with younger generations.**

The  online  show  is  being  prepared  in  reaction  to  the  inquiries  of  fans  missing  live culture. _"We have been living under strict restrictions for an entire year, and the end is still nowhere in sight. It is not only our favourite meeting places that are getting covered in dust, but also our souls. This is why we have heard the pleas of our fans and would thus like to add a spark of colour to their current grey daily routines,"_ says Queenie frontman Michael Kluch about the circumstances of the online concert, and he adds: _"The show must go on. And we want to make something very clear –life goes on, too! We still have a lot to look forward to, to live for. This is how we see it, anyway. We would like to support those who have given into sadness and exhaustion."_ At the same time, Queenie are very much aware of the non-transferability of a live concert and the atmosphere  of  small  clubs  as  well  as  big  arenas  into  a  home  environment.  For this reason, the band has decided to approach the show differently and to offer their fans an experience they are not likely to get at a normal live concert.

**On Stage and Backstage**


It is not Queenie’s intention to hold a common musical stream consisting of a playlist only. TheShow Must Go Home offers an original approach to online concert-making that will transfer the spectator directly onto the stage. _"We have decided to build a part of  our  stage  from  our  future  Queen  Relived  show  for  one  evening  and  to  create  an online show with a spectacular visual stage set,"_ says Michael Kluch, and he continues: _"Those of you who had purchased a ticket to one of the O2 Arena concerts, fear not! This  concert  is  going  to  be  quite  different. We are  about  to  experience  a  different playlist, different costumes, different surprises. We are simply going to make use of a part of our stage in order to perform our vision of a 21st-century concert experience –albeit in an online form.”_

The online environment may not provide the spectators with a live concert atmosphere; it will, nevertheless, allow them to imagine themselves on the stage as if during a live concert, and to enjoy Queenie as if the band played in their homes. In order to achieve this impression, we employ twelve cameras shooting the stage and the band members from all angles, as well as from a bird’s eye view. Apart from Queen’sfamous songs performed in original arrangements and keys, the spectators will also enjoy a tour of the backstage that is commonly unavailable to the public. They will get a unique chance to take a peek at the preparations for the show. They will be able to view the entire stage  and  its  construction  process.  They  will  get  to  know  the  crew  who  handle everything,  and  observe  sound  and  lighting  technicians  during  their  work.  And,  of course, they will be allowed to take a sneak peek at the band’s changing room.

_"**The Show Must Go Home** will be unique in all aspects. I would venture to say that in the  Czech  online  environment,  a  similar  show  is  a  completely  unprecedented occurrence. The stage on which we will play is larger than normal live concerts. Despite the fact that it isan online streaming event, we want to be completely authentic and perfect to a tee –as  if  it  were  a  live  concert.  As  usual,  no  detail  is  too  small,  we  try  to  exceed  the already   high   standards,"_ says   Michael   Kluch   on   the   promised   extraordinary experience.

We could make another boring merch line with the band's logo on the chest printed over the cheapest textile on the market. But we said NO! Our goal was to create a **distinctive design** for clothes that you would be able to put on not only for a concert, thus supporting its great atmosphere, but also as a stylish piece for everyday wear.

This is reflected in the **first edition**, for which we have created a unique and original design based on **the iconic colors: yellow and white.**

All T-shirts are made of **100% organic** cotton of the Stanley/Stella brand in **fair wear** workshops (cloth bags are made of 80% recycled cotton and 20% recycled polyester). Everything is **screen-printed by hand** thanks to raster graphics, and the multi-colored motifs can also create an optical illusion, for example when viewed through a mobile phone camera.

We have decorated our T-shirts, tank tops and cloth bags with the letter „Q“ labels woven with a golden glittering thread. Moreover, none of the merch is packed in plastic bags – we use **paper boxes** for sale. Our **new logo** is also included.

Together with the merch, we have also created a beautiful **eye-catching stand**, which you will find at **Queenie‘s concerts** and at which you will be able to buy clothes and other accessories.

**Up until now, despite the complicated limitations related to the coronavirus, things looked very promising. But after all, the producer, organizing team and representatives of the arena were forced to cancel these shows in both September and December! We have agreed with O2 Arena that the new dates for all three concerts will be set in exactly one year from today, namely on September 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2021.**)

In the past weeks, we have had numerous and very demanding meetings with the representatives of O2 Arena, the Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic and the Prime Minister. After the presentation of detailed safety measures, everyone was willing to allow this absolutely unique show, which had already had to be rescheduled from spring, to happen this time. Thanks to the fact that the arena offers spacious premises, many entrances and separated sectors, 44-meter high ceilings and air conditioning system with the option of use without the internal circuit, we were able to propose a really safe way of organizing our performances.

The approved security measures regarding separation of the audience into sectors for up to 400 people, providing proper entrances and separating them from the staff allowed us to achieve the required attendance. But unlike at other events, there can be no standing audience during a music production. _"We have 5000 people with standing-room tickets in two days and we do not want to disappoint them. We would have to arrange seats right in the floor area for 3000 of them, move some into different seated sections and send the rest home, and we really cannot do that. It would not be ethical, and neither would be seating the audience in the first rows in front of the 2-meter high stage, not to mention that a large part of our show would take place on the bridges in the center of the hall – that is, behind them. Even the compromise suggestion of dividing the standing audience into six separate groups, with a separate entrance into the hall and to the respective area for each group, did not pass. We really can't accept the option without the standing part of the audience. As even after Tuesday's meeting of the Security Council nor after the the Prime Minister’s intercession we were not allowed to have at least part of the audience in the standing section, we, together with the O2 Arena representatives, have decided to postpone the concerts to the aforementioned new dates,"_ explains Michael Kluch, the frontman of Queenie.

**Holders of tickets for May 15th, 2020 (September 11th, 2020) will enjoy the premiere of the show on September 3rd, 2021, holders of tickets for May 16th, 2020 (September 12th, 2020) will see the concert on September 4th, 2021 and holders of tickets for December 21st, 2020 will come to the show on September 5th, 2021.**

_"We kindly ask the audience to understand the situation, which we are not to blame for, and to remain tolerant. All other detailed information will be published on FB, IG and the website www.queenie.cz, as well as on the website of O2 Arena. The idea of brewing **Queenie beer** was born back in 2016 in the mind of the owner of the [Panaczech brewery](https://www.facebook.com/pivovarpanaczech), **Mr. Ondřej Vrkoč**, when he attended the band's concert at the Krkonoše Beer Festival in Vrchlabí.

_"How about we take our and English malts, hops and yeasts, choose the best of what both our countries offer and create a perfect symbiosis for a unique taste experience?"_

Oh, good old England. We have been looking at its distant shores for centuries, and yet we hardly realize how much we actually have in common. We laugh at quite similar things, we make fun of religion, we are close in our music tastes and culture in general, and especially: both our nations are, quite unsurprisingly, considered beer-loving nations. Could that perhaps be an example of the imaginary communicating vessels?

The idea of uniting what makes our beer good with what our fellow beer enthusiasts on the other side of the channel enjoy has **matured over several years**. During this time, the vision of the recipe has been becoming increasingly clear. The core part, based on **the English types of beer**, would be enriched with the **Czech tradition of beer brewing** and **the heart of the music itself**, to make it feel as if the **legendary rhythms** which pulsated across the world stadiums were **bubbling on the tongue**.

Based on discussions with the band, the head brewmaster of **the Panaczech brewery**, **Mr. David Nedoma**, created the recipe for **Queenie beer**, which includes factors from both England and the Czech Republic so as to perfectly capture, figuratively saying, the flavour scene of the English legend's music as performed by our Czech band.

The result thereof is our **ten-degree beer** with Pilsner yeast, Žatec hops, English malts and a royal golden color.

**In short, good old England spiced up with good old Czechia!**

The show **Queen Relived by Queenie** had been prepared for a **world tour** since the beginning. Already during the creation stage, the production & organization team offered this show to the world's largest promoters and invited them to the concert at **O2 Arena**.

_"We are already in touch with some seriously interested parties who would like to see the show first, but a promoter from South Korea decided not to wait and proposed the purchase of 12 to 16 performances in 2022, with continuation of the series of concerts in the coming years. After several months of negotiations, last week we signed a contract with this promoter!_

_Currently, we know that the concerts will take place in large halls in South Korea with regional overlap and will have the format of major international stars‘ shows. Thus they will be consistent with the concept which we will present at the premiere at O2 Arena in Prague. The dates and exact locations will be confirmed later. Due to the impact of the coronavirus crisis, the promoter in South Korea does not yet know whether it will be possible to start the tour already in spring or in autumn 2022. Meanwhile, negotiations with interested prominent promoters from Europe and other regions are underway too,“_ shared the executive producer of the project Martin Zoubek.

_"We are very much looking forward to enjoying the show at **O2 Arena** with our fans, as despite being constantly involved in all the preparations, even we still can't fully imagine what the audience will experience there in September and December. It will be a **unique show with an incredible stage, a huge screen and the light, audiovisual and pyrotechnic effects of the Hollywood format**,“_ says the frontman of the band QUEENIE **Michael Kluch** happily.

The first two concerts (rescheduled for September) were **sold out** within a quarter of a year and, as stated by **O2 Arena**, QUEENIE is the first Czech performer to sell them out **to the very last available ticket**.

The scene itself amazes even with the numbers alone. The dimensions of the stage are: **21 meters in height, 55 meters in length and 33 meters at its widest point**. The equipment and pre-made parts of the stage and decorations will be transported by **28 trucks**. During the first time, it will take over **40 hours** to build the platform, but at the following concerts everything should be put together in less than a day. The author of the whole construction is the show designer **Martin Hruška**, who is one of the twenty most sought-after show designers in the world. The light effects of the entire spectacular show are responsibility of the light designer **Lukáš Patzenhauer**, who is already now with Queenie on their summer tour.

The author of the band's costumes for this project is the famous costume designer **Roman Šolc**.

More than **twenty** people and about **ten** different suppliers with **hundreds** of employees work together to prepare and create the show. The installation and uninstallation of the stage alone and work during the concerts will involve more than **300 other people of various professions**.

This spring was complicated due to the emergency situation, but life is returning to normal and also we are going back to the stages.

Right from the 5th of July we will perform in Turnov, on the 15th of July we will start a successful tour from the last year "**Under the open sky**", symbolically on the last venue of the last year's tour in Jindřichův Hradec.

On the 17th of July, we will meet you at the **Prague Exhibition Grounds** in the beautiful **Lucerna Music Bar Open Air** complex, where we plan to try some songs planned for the [QUEEN RELIVED](https://www.queenrelived.com/) concerts at the **O2 arena**. Come test them with us, we are interested in your feedback! :-)

On tje 20th of July we will perform in Český Krumlov and on the 31st of July in Mikulov will start the month on the tour "**Under the open sky**".

In this year's tour, in addition to music, we will also bring you our "**The Miracle stage**", the stage with scenery inspired by the clip **The Miracle** of the band **Queen**. It will be the first time that we will present this **unique stage** to a wider audience outside Brno, where we exclusively showed it in the SONO music club.

As the new show [QUEEN RELIVED](https://queenrelived.cz) is getting ready to take place at **O2 arena**, we are also presenting **the new Queenie band‘s logo**.

We approached one of the best graphic designers in the Czech Republic, **Marek Motalík** ([marekmotalik.com](https://marekmotalik.com)), with the request to create us a **unique logo** that the fans could associate with our band.

In order for our logo to have the proper „royal“ spirit, we were looking for references which would be characteristic of our country and which would travel the world with us. We had a lot of ideas and it took us a while to put everything together according to our visions.

We set ourselves the task of bringing together the history of the Czech lands, local myths, culture and national symbols. That‘s why our logo features i.a. the legendary **bird Noh (Roc)** in reference to Alois Jirásek and in particular to the legend of Bruncvík, **the double-tailed Czech lion**, **linden leaves** and **angels** typical of the Czech Baroque. However, it does not lack **the Red Special** or **the legendary mic „stick“** either.

We are thrilled about the logo, **Marek Motalík** is a genius! We hope you will be as happy about it as we are.

_Unfortunately, in view of the government's decision prohibiting all events until further notice, our concerts cannot happen on the original scheduled dates of May 15 and 16, 2020. Moreover, our foreign suppliers cannot deliver their technologies for the rehearsals, without which the show cannot be prepared now. The decision to change the dates of our concerts is therefore the only possible solution. Queen Relived 2020 by Queenie will take place on September 11 and 12, 2020. All previously purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates and do not need to be replaced – the tickets for Friday, May 15, 2020, will now be valid for Friday, September 11, 2020, and the tickets for Saturday, May 16, 2020, will apply for Saturday, September 12, 2020, respectively. The date of our concert on December 21, 2020 remains unchanged._

Both May dates of our concerts in **O2 arena Prague** are hopelessly **sold out**, so we decided to add a **third term**!

This May, **Queenie** had a great honor to accept **Leoš Mareš‘s** invitation to play on the stage of **O2 Arena** as his guests. At each of the three sold out **mega concerts** Queenie made a performance mapping the legendary charity show by **Queen** at **Live AID** in Wembley in 1985.

_“We got a great opportunity to try a super big stage. This was very useful for us, for at that time we had already had our own concerts at O2 Arena in preparation. It was a big commitment, Leoš is awesome and we couldn't afford doing something wrong,”_ says the band unanimously. _“Since Live AID was a charity concert, we decided to donate the fee to the **[Mercury Phoenix Trust](http://www.mercuryphoenixtrust.com/)**. It was founded after Mercury's death by the remaining Queen members and helps to fight HIV/AIDS worldwide,”_ adds the frontman **Michael Kluch**.

However, a big surprise came in December, when the band received a **certificate** of their donation signed by **Brian May** and **Roger Taylor**. “//It made us very happy! We did not expect this at all, we were not even aware that any such certificates were ever granted. We support **[Freddie for a Day](http://www.mercuryphoenixtrust.com/site/whatisffad)** every year, and this time, since we were playing Live AID, there was no doubt about maintaining the charitable nature of the show. We just sent a few crowns and didn't think about it any further//.”

**Popular hits of the British icon will be played by the Czech band Queenie, which is considered one of the best tribute bands in the world. The music experience will be supported by an impressive light and multimedia show. Concert tickets will become available in the coming days.**

The whole concert show will be a celebration and a commemoration of the famous band. _“With this concert, we want to create an atmosphere which the audience would experience at a real concert with Freddie Mercury. We decided to create a stage worthy of concerts of the world's biggest bands,”_ says Martin Zoubek on behalf of the organizing agency.

Famous songs, which are still aired by radio stations worldwide, will be played by the Czech band Queenie. It is one of **the most successful and recognized** tribute groups ever. They play the songs of Queen in authentic arrangements and costumes, and play them like no one else. The band Queenie was formed thirteen years ago and since then has had over 1 200 concerts, one fourth of them abroad, including several tours e.g. in Scandinavia or Belgium, a show in Vietnam, a performance at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival, where Queen played in the Eighties, and concerts **at the birthday celebration of the British Queen Elizabeth II or of Dominik Hašek**.

_“We have state-of-the-art equipment, lights and large screens. It will be the biggest concert ever performed in our „tribute“ genre. We have involved the show and stage designer Martin Hruška, who is a worldwide recognized professional and who in the past worked for the biggest stars, including Madonna,”_ says **Michael Kluch, frontman of the band**, whose portrayal of **Freddie Mercury** can give the goosebumps to the audience.

The show has big ambitions. In the future, the band plans to go on a European and world tour with it to further spread the legacy of the legendary Queen. With a bombastic stage design and songs in their original arrangements and tunes – which is nearly impossible, considering Mercury's phenomenal vocal range – this is a plan that must work out.

Hruška's ambitious scene design for the upcoming **Queen Relived** show features not only a giant stage but also a "bridge" in the form of two long arrows stretching through the entire hall. Thanks to that, the audience will have the musicians practically within arm‘s reach. **The lighting design of the concert will make use of the latest technologies and methods.**

**Queen Relived** show will take place at **O2 Arena** in Prague on **May 15, 2020**. Tickets will be available from September 11, 2019 on the Ticketportal network in the price range from 990 CZK to 1 890 CZK.

We are happy and proud to have participated in this event along with this year's guests incl. **Elton John, Sting, Slash, Tom Jones, Janet Jackson, ZZ Top and Quincy Jones**.

This year, on July 6th, a new concert stage moving across the whole **Geneva lake**, known as the "**Rock Boat**", was unveiled – and there, in the middle of the lake under the Alps, we played the **premiere** show as **the main band** on its deck. We became the **first** ever Czech band and the **first** ever tribute band to perform at this festival. It was a marvelous experience, which became even more special when the first tones of the **Bohemian Rhapsody** resounded in front of the statue of **Mercury**, as if the captain had read our playlist. A very intense and unforgettable moment. And for the song **Under Pressure** we had a special guest, amazing **Milan Šatník**!

**Montreux** is an awesome place, which many bands and artists (including **Queen**) visited to live, create and record. We had already performed here **twice** before, participating in **Freddie Mercury** memorials in 2008 and in 2017. This year, however, it was our first time here at an event not directly related to Queen.

It has already become a tradition that **Leoš Mareš** organizes **spectacular concerts** with great stage sets, modern shows and popular guests. This year he has had the idea of inviting **Queenie** and letting the audience take a look into the past at the **legendary Queen's** show at **Live AID** at Wembley in 1985. Yesterday the first of his three sold out concerts took place; today and tomorrow two more are coming.

_“When we first heard about this idea, it seemed crazy, but we immediately got inspired by it and after yesterday's show we can say that this Leoš‘s idea was absolutely great! We enjoyed it a lot, the audience was outright electrifying. It was an amazing experience, but also a great responsibility. We decided to donate the fee to the **[Mercury Phoenix Trust](http://www.mercuryphoenixtrust.com/)**. We found it to be the right thing to do, as the show was an interpretation of Live AID, and Leoš Mareš agreed! **Many thanks to Leoš for the invitation!** There's no one here who could have have achieved what he has. We are looking forward to discovering what he will surprise everyone with next year,”_ add **Queenie** unanimously.

Under Karel Janák direction, a rather sharp script turned into a remarkable work of art, mainly thanks to the superb interpretation of the legendary band‘s songs, which were played live by Queenie, one of the world's most renowned Queen tribute bands. Their frontman, Michael Kluch, starred as Freddie Mercury, and together with the band, Jiří Korn (band manager’s representative), and other protagonists they presented a fascinating, breathtaking performance full of emotions. The artists on the packed stage were rewarded with a thunderous final applause including a standing ovation. This last performance of the musical, organized outside of Prague, was a somewhat secret but very pompous farewell to the audience.

**We have asked Michael Kluch, who plays the lead role as Freddie Mercury: What was behind such an unexpected end?**

“I'm very sad about it, both for myself and the band and for the other artists who spent a lot of time and energy preparing this performance and expected the result of their effort to last. It is obvious that none of the performers can influence the copyright factors. That is purely a matter of production.”

**Am I to understand that the theater‘s copyright ended with this performance?**

“We don't even know exactly how it was done with the copyright. We know only that there was some conflict regarding an infringement of the copyright in this performance, which is why today it was probably the last time we played it. A new version is being prepared. The new script’s concept would not need the approval of the Queen group copyright holders, but for now it does not seem promising.

**Is the script not good?**

“I don't want to evaluate the script as such, but Queen without Queen?! That's nonsense to me. Culture is supposed to entertain and enrich people, not to look for ways to bypass some rules – that's not how we want to be. With the band, we perform all over the world and we do care how people abroad see us and what they say about us. If we want to be a proud nation, we can't just constantly work around things in some cunning ways.”

**So will you and Queenie not take part in the next version?**

“I don’t think so at the moment. We are proud of our previous work on the musical, we enjoyed doing it and we would be glad to continue with the original version. However, if it‘s true that the authors‘ consent has never been issued at all, our efforts to carry on with this project would most likely be pointless. As I have already mentioned, we cannot, and indeed do not want to, participate in something that infringes copyright.”

**What’s the situation with the copyright and Queenie?**

“For organizing concerts, the consent of the authors is not necessary – only the organizer of each event where we play pays the authors royalties according to the rules. We do not need to handle that part.”

**What are you preparing in the near future?**

“We are planning a lot of concerts both in our country and around the world, even though, unfortunately, we cannot be everywhere. In April we will play in Sweden and Costa Rica, but Prague fans can enjoy our show on April 16, from 19:00, at Retro Music Hall. In May, besides Denmark and Prague, we will bring our Queen Relived show to Olomouc, Pilsen and České Budějovice, where the concert tickets are already sold out. I can't remember all the concerts we've arranged, but we will also play in other cities, so hopefully there will be something for every fan. We are also preparing one special pearl, but that one is still a secret.”

**Which concert are you looking forward to most?**

“We look forward to all our concerts, and we enjoy them to the fullest. If I should name just one though, I am thinking of our most recent addition – we have been invited to the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival, with Sir Elton John as its main star this year.

“This year we have already had **150 concerts in 20** countries around the world. The one at Sono was our concert of the year, a sort of summarization. We wanted the audience to receive a unique experience, and it worked out. Two years ago we had a sold-out concert with the **Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra Prague** and **the Children's Choir Brno** here. We wished to bring something new and with this in mind we designed a stage matching the one of **Queen** to complement the unique performance,” said **Michael Kluch**, the band's frontman.

The band **Queenie - world Queen tribute band** represents the absolute top of their genre. More than a **thousand spectators** could enjoy the proof thereof at the **sold-out Sono hall** in Brno. The band played a two-hour concert with thunderous unstoppable ovation from the audience. The show was further escalated with the song **Barcelona**, for which the **National Theater soloist Petra Alvarez** joined **Queenie** on stage. Then the fans asked for three more songs. **We Will Rock You, Friends Will Be Friends** and **We Are The Champions** were already sung in unison by the whole hall.

The concert had been sold out since the end of summer and because of the ongoing interest the band has decided to do two shows at **Sono** next year, on December 5th and 6th, 2019. In addition, **Queenie** will have concerts in other Czech cities and in many places abroad. Besides the spring and autumn **Scandinavian tour**, the band has accepted a **Central American tour** invitation that will begin on April 20, 2019 **in Costa Rica**, exactly 27 years since the commemorative concert honored **Freddie Mercury** in **Wembley**, London.

**Queenie** in this newly prepared **musical** was given **the main role**. **Michael Kluch** will perform as **Freddie** and the rest of the band will perform the rest of the **Queen**. It will be a completely **live musical accompaniment**, which is not always a matter of course on the Czech scene, and **Queenie** will take care of it. In this **unique theater show** will also perform by **Jiří Korn**, **Rudolf Hrušínský junior**, **Simona Postlerová** and other leading musical actors.

**Michael** is already performing in another performance about **Freddie Mercury**. This is the dance musical **Freddie: The King of Queen**, written by **Libor Vaculík** with **Václav Kopta** and **Petr Malásek**. It is presented in **the Theater J.K.Tyl** in **Pilsen** and **Michael** also performs the role of **Mercury**. But the new production of **Karel Janák** is conceived as a musical performance with all the elements that belong to the **musical**.

We are looking forward to the concert on the **4th December 2017** in the same theater and the new stage will not be missed. For this performance in December we decided to change the dramaturgy and include some other songs, so those, who would like to visit us twice in Kalich, would like to come again. Our guest will be again the soloist of the National Theater - the great soprano **Petra Alvarez**.

On both shows, we will for make début appearances with our **Queen-style stage structure**; in addition, we are already preparing some bits of Christmas sentiment for our December show. The opera soprano diva **Petra Alvarez**, soloist of the National Theater, will join as our guest, too.

**Queenie** performed on this stage, which belongs among the most famous and recognized ones in Prague, for the first time on April 13, 2017, having arrived here with the program of their Forever spring European tour. The concert received great acclaim, and so the band with the frontman **Michael Kluch**, who also appeared at the **Kalich Theater** in the main roles in RENT and Touha musicals, is returning here again half a year later.

Queenie performed in Montreux at the **Freddie For A Day Festival 2017**, 9 years after having been the first Czech-Slovak performer to play as the headliner at one of the biggest Queen festivals, the **Freddie Mercury Montreux Memorial Day 2008**. During this year's spring tour, which counts 17 concerts, Queenie visited 7 European countries and for the first time also presented their mostly Scandinavian concert concept in the Czech Republic. The opening sold out concert which took place at **J.K. Tyl Theater** in Pilsen was not officially part of this sequence of concerts, but Queenie tried out their new playlist on it. The actual tour included the also sold out show at the **Kalich Theater** in Prague, where, together with Queenie, the soprano of the National Theater **Petra Alvarez** performed. Besides **Switzerland** and the **Czech Republic**, the tour included **Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark** and **Spain**.

During the concert intermission a demonstration of table hockey with the participation of the best international and Czech Stiga hockey players will take place. Throughout the championship you as spectators will have the opportunity to get in close proximity to the playing tables, which is rarely possible in other sports at this level. Last year we went through two involuntary member changes, when due to health reasons we were forced to find a new keyboardist literally from one day to another and after a thorough selection process we also got a new drummer. While (believe it or not :-) ) Michal David established himself on the keyboards and the band noticed a great contribution of his participation immediately, in the case of the drums things were not that easy. After almost 10 months we ended cooperation with Gleb Chuykov. We hereby thank Gleb and wish him lots of success.

With Bali, we have already done the final Norwegian part of our spring Scandinavian tour and the way he has caught up with the rolling train is great! The following brief profile also proves the fact that he is no slouch:

_"Petr Baláš has been active on the music stage for already more than 12 years. He is a graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, and the drummer Václav Zima has been his long time lecturer and principal mentor, with whom he has taken private lessons. **Petr is the company player of the #1 world brand of cymbals Zildjian, as well as the founder of LOLA band, with which he played for 6 years and won i.a. the Mercedes Benz Live Space Show and the Real League contest**. He has participated in other projects too, such as the Tábor Superstar Band, Slovak Popcorn Drama band and others. He has also recorded a number of albums. In addition to those of the bands he played with, he also made recordings for the Sobi20, Lukrecia and Country Steel bands. Petr is also involved in pedagogical activities. He is currently preparing a video class in collaboration with Kytary.cz and his new drumming textbook will be released in the summer of 2017. He teaches at the Sezimovo Ústí Art and Music School and Želivský Art and Music School in Prague."_

This latter show will be the only Czech stop within **our spring European tour**, during which we will stop by **Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Norway** and therefore the **Czech Republic**! We are all looking forward to seeing you all. We set up the individual concerts in such a way that you can get something unique at each and our playlist is as varied as possible. The concert is scheduled for April 13, 2017 from 19:00 and will be part of our Scandinavian tour. So we are going to make a stop in Prague for this very unique concert, for which we will bring the dramaturgy of the whole tour to Kalich. Size-wise it will be the biggest concert we have ever had in Prague and it will make full use of the potential of the theater environment and equipment of the Kalich Theater. Soprano **Petra Alvarez**, soloist of the National Theater, will make appearance as a guest of the concert.

We conceive our shows as a concert theater – and this performance will be twice that! Do not miss it.

The [J. K. Tyl Theater](https://www.djkt.eu) will dedicate the repeat performance on October 2 to the prevention and fight against this disease and will support the activities of the Positive Life charitable foundation. The performance on the New Stage will be followed by a few additions from **QUEENIE** band and the visitors will have an opportunity to see a photo exhibition in the foyer. There will also be an autograph ceremony with the main performers: [**Michael Kluch**](http://www.michaelkluch.cz), [**Richard Ševčík**](https://www.djkt.eu/sevcik-richard), [**Iva Marešová**](http://ivamaresova.cz/) and **soprano** [**Monika Sommerová**](https://www.facebook.com/Monika-Sommerova), who will sing the famous opera duet Barcelona together with the band. The New Theater building will be illuminated in red all night long.

"Freddie Mercury would have been seventy years old this year, and twenty-five years have passed since his death, so we have decided to make this performance special in way and help the good thing at the same time. We want to express our support for the Positive Life foundation, which has focused on preventing and fighting AIDS for a long time," says the theater‘s art secretary Michal Lieberzeit.

From September 27 to October 2, an exhibition of black-and-white photographs capturing the everyday life of people infected with HIV will be placed in the New Stage foyer. The exhibition is traveling and besides Pilsen it could be seen in Prague, Munich and Zurich. In addition to photos, there will be information boards dedicated to the aforementioned patients in the foyer, through which they provide an opportunity to look into their private lives afflicted with the malicious disease. "I think the J.K.Tyl Theater contributes enormously to the prevention and fight against AIDS by having a performance about Freddie Mercury on the repertoire," said Miroslav Hlavatý, chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees. The patronage of the event was taken over by the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic MUDr. Svatopluk Němeček.
